Tell Us Your Story: We Need Your Help!

The Clearfield County Conservation District is producing a 2nd edition of “Clearfield County Waters”, an informational booklet on the river and streams in Clearfield County.  The Booklet will look at the county’s waterways as they are now and compare them to the past; this is where we need your help!  We need your personal stories or poems speaking to the past and present conditions of our streams and the West Branch Susquehanna River.  Whether your story tells of your childhood fishing hole, your favorite place to swim, that spot on the river you will never forget because you fell in on your first kayak trip, a stream that once supported a healthy population of fish but no longer can due to pollution, or of a stream that once was heavily polluted but has been restored, we want to hear it!  Pictures are also welcome!

Copies of the 1st edition of the “Clearfield County Waters” booklet are also available upon request.

Please submit you stories/pictures/booklet requests no later than
December 31, 2009 either by email or mail to:

2010 Tree Seedling Sale

To Our Friends and Customers:

It’s that time of year again!

The Clearfield County Conservation District is taking orders for its third annual tree sale.  This catalog contains several tree and shrub species that are suitable for many uses including aesthetic pleasure, wildlife food and habitat, shade, windbreaks, streambank stabilization, christmas trees, etc.  We are striving to offer a greater variety of species that are native to our area.  This year for the first time we are offering some native shrub species in container stock, this gives the plants a head-start in establishing healthy root systems in the soil, be sure to check them out.  As always we have tried our best to keep our prices reasonable to encourage reforestation. All proceeds from this sale will benefit local conservation efforts and environmental education programs in Clearfield County. If you have any questions regarding any of the species offered in this catalog, feel free to contact us at 814-765-2629 or download the Brochure.
