Arborvitae (Thuja spp.) is an evergreen tree or shrub known for its dense foliage and conical shape, making it a popular choice for hedges and privacy screens. These trees can range in height from 10 to 60 feet. They come in 12"-18".

Care Instructions:

  1. Light: Prefers full sun to partial shade; full sun promotes better growth and density.
  2. Soil: Thrives in well-draining, moist soils; adaptable to a variety of soil types, including sandy and clay soils.
  3. Watering: Water regularly, especially during dry periods. Ensure the soil remains moist but not soggy.
  4. Fertilizing: Apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring to support growth, especially in nutrient-poor soils.
  5. Pruning: Minimal pruning needed; trim lightly in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and remove any dead branches.
  6. Pests/Diseases: Generally pest-resistant, but watch for spider mites and bagworms. Good air circulation helps prevent fungal diseases.

With their lush greenery and versatility, arborvitae makes an excellent choice for both ornamental and functional landscaping!
