Red Osier Dogwood (Cornus sericea)


The red osier dogwood is a deciduous shrub native to North America, known for its vibrant red stems, which provide striking winter interest, and its clusters of small white flowers followed by white to bluish berries. Come 18" - 24" at pickup.


Care Instructions:

  • Light: Thrives in full sun to partial shade.
  • Soil: Adapts to a variety of soils, including wet and poorly drained conditions; prefers rich, loamy soil.
  • Water: Requires consistent moisture, especially in hot or dry conditions.
  • Temperature: Hardy in USDA zones 2-7, tolerating cold climates and diverse growing conditions.
  • Pruning: Cut back old stems in late winter or early spring to encourage vibrant new growth and maintain shape.
