Thank you to all our participating schools at the 2024 Envirothon!

This year we hosted 15 teams from Dubois, West Branch, Curwensville, and Clearfield. The teams spanned both middle and high school students, with 10 high school teams and 5 middle school teams for a total of 68 students.
We had volunteers from PA Fish and Boat, DCNR, and PA Game Commission as well as CCCD board members. The students answered a total of 162 questions between the 5 topic tests, and the current issue this year was "renewable energy for a sustainable future". The West Branch Fragipans took home gold, the West Branch Enviro”mentals” took silver, and the West Branch Old Growth Forest took bronze. The 2024 State Envirothon was held on May 22nd. The West Branch Fragipans participated and placed 24th out of 63 teams. In addition to the 5 topics tested on the county level, the State Envirothon does an oral component on which the Fragipans scored 97.67 - one of the highest in the State! |
